Short Film (2011)
Logline: A serial killer’s bad day is made much worse when he picks up the wrong girl hitchhiking.
Synopsis: Edward should have turned the car back when he loses his lucky sunglasses, but he decides to not waste the beautiful day. He’s got his supplies ready to go in the back seat – a rope, large hunting knife and duct tape – and the long stretch of highway in front of him holds much opportunity. Before long, he spots a pale girl standing in the middle of the road. She’s thin and shivering, and climbs into his car. Edward soon has his victim gagged and bound, and looks for the right place to finish the job. But things don’t go as planned: the girl he picked up isn’t human after all, and now the prey has become the predator.

Reviews:
“…meticulous emotional meatgrinder, genuinely redolent with directorial horror film prowess...walks the line between art film and horror film exquisitely. Nicolas Roeg meets Ted Bundy.” From John Skipp at Bizarro Central
"On a technical level, Doll Parts excels. The cinematography by Harvey Larocque is crisp and dreamy. The special makeup effects by Win Liu are grisly. Lewis does a great job of reeling in his performance as a brutal killer, almost to the point where we first feel sympathy for him until his true nature is unleashed." From Chris Hallock at All Things Horror
"The world of horror filmmaking is a bit of a sausage fest. With "Doll Parts" and "Stained", Karen Lam proves she has the balls to play with the boys." From HorrorQuest Film Festival
"Quiet...and filled with tiny details, Doll Parts is a movie you can watch over and over again, seeing a little more of what lurks beneath the surface each time." From Channel KDK12
"Moody and thought-provoking mini-mystery...well-acted and nicely shot outdoors, Lam knows how to make an impression." From Horror.com
